National Twins Day celebrates siblings who share a birthday so enjoy the unique connection. Identical or fraternal twins share everything from the beginning. Their personalities can differ. However, often they know what the other is going to say before they speak the words. Distance doesn’t matter because twins manage to stay connected around the globe or across the country. National Twins Day celebrated on 18th Dec as it was inspired by Moses and Aaron Wilcox (pair of twins).
From the beginning, mythology teaches people twins, like; Gemini, the immortal and mortal twins of the constellation, or Deimos and Phobos, the twin sons of Aphrodite. People explore many human conditions. Twins have fascinated them through the years. Enthusiastically, literature embraced the twin duplicity, Twelfth Night of Shakespeare, and the confusion that ensues with Viola and Sebastian. Modern sitcoms keep the viewers in tears when they portray twins. Phoebe Buffay of the sitcom Friends depicted their twin lives humorously and recently from the Big Bang Sheldon Cooper.
Real-life twins intrigue everyone. They pay attention when twins move into the White House like in 2001 Jenna and Barbara Bush. People feel like they are family when they play magical characters such as Oliver and James Phelps in the Harry Potter series. Their roles as George and Fred Weasley keep everybody coming back for more.
Twins have the same interests. Scott and Mark Kelly became astronauts. They contributed to space exploration. And they contributed to scientific study too. Monique Lamoureux and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson loved hockey. It brought them on the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. Many twins do not look alike, but they share more than DNA.
People proclaimed National Twins Day in 2019. Also, they observe it on 18 Dec every year. And they celebrate all things twins. On this day, individuals can shout out to their favorite twins. They can let family, friends, or famous personalities know they are thinking of them. They can tell their best twin memory if they are a twin.
People can host a twin party, share photos, and celebrate after inviting the twins they know. On social media, everyone can use the hashtag National Twin Day to share. Students can do projects on this day and so on.
